Our new sustainability targets

In our 40 years of experience, we have understood that doing business also means taking responsibility. The fundamental aim of any company is undoubtedly to produce wealth and new opportunities, but this objective cannot be achieved – and above all maintained over time – without a true culture of respect and a strategy that implements processes that are truly socially and environmentally sustainable.

The excessive consumption of plastic, for example, is one of the most important ecological problems: suffice it to say that objects made of this material take between 100 and 1000 years to degrade completely, causing considerable damage to the ecosystem. A contribution from private individuals and companies is therefore decisive in limiting the environmental impact of our lifestyles.

Many elmec initiatives are moving in this direction.

One of the most recent is the introduction of paper in the packaging of our products, with the aim of reducing the purchase of bubble wrap as much as possible. On average, in just two years, packaging needs require around 670 kg of bubble wrap, but the alternative use of paper is intended to take a small but decisive step towards increasingly ‘plastic-free’ logistics.

In addition, the use of the practical reusable water bottles that we distributed to the team has effectively helped us to eliminate the use of plastic bottles in the company, with a net saving in both costs and waste.

These two innovations are part of wider sustainability targets which also includes 100% LED lighting, modern recycling processes and the installation of an electric charging station in the elmec car parks powered by our 20 kW photovoltaic system. An opportunity to drastically reduce energy costs and encourage the choice of green and environmentally sustainable vehicles such as cars, scooters or electric scooters.

At elmec we build the future goal after goal!
